Discovering the Château de Mauves
The origins of Château de Mauves
In 1817, Captain Jean Mauve created the Château de Mauves property. His heirs, Georges and Henri Moreau, well-known wine merchants in Bordeaux, developed the property.
In fact, a bottle of Château de Mauves 1938 bears the words "1er cru de Graves".
A guaranteed successor
In 1965, the Bouche Bernard family, heirs to four generations of winegrowers, took over the six hectares of vineyards.
Today, coming from five generations of winegrowers, Michel and Véronique BOUCHE manage the 28 hectares of vines in the prestigious Graves appellation, with passion and know-how.
A mosaic of terroir
The vineyard is made up of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Cabernet Franc and 40% Merlot. The vinification is long maceration in thermo-regulated vats, to extract the best potential from the grapes.
Since 2018, the property has been awarded the High Environmental Value label.
