Discovering Delord Armagnacs

Discovering Delord Armagnacs

The love of Gascon brandy as a heritage

It is in the heart of Bas Armagnac, in a pretty village in the Gers called Lannepax, that the Delord house has been producing its eaux-de-vie for nearly 130 years. Their history goes back to

à 1893. When the great-grandfather (of the brothers Jérôme and Sylvain Delord), an itinerant distiller and cellar master, drove his still from farm to farm in order to transform white wine into armagnac. The two brothers have not only inherited a house that is proud of its terroir, they have above all inherited an ambition that has driven the Delords for four generations.

A very rare production tool within the appellation

The Delord distillery, located in Prosper's old workshop, perfectly embodies the family's values. It is difficult not to be touched by its soul and authenticity. Moreover, for the visitor, it is a real invitation to travel back in time. Jérôme and Sylvain Delord have four stills at their disposal to make their Bas-Armagnac: two traditional Armagnac stills and two iron stills. It is one of the very few Armagnac houses to use the two distillation methods authorised by the AOC specifications, the continuous distillation typical of Armagnac and the "double chauffe" distillation.

A range of armagnacs that perfectly illustrates a family know-how

If they are distinguished by their resolutely authentic style, the armagnacs of the Delord house can also be recognised by their wax-sealed bottles, always by hand, but also by their handwritten labels. This loyalty alone illustrates the vision of Jérôme and Sylvain Delord, who are definitely not prepared to be influenced by marketing trends.
