Discovering the Domaine des Pasquiers

A family history

Located in the commune of Sablet in the southern Rhône Valley, Domaine des Pasquiers was created in 1935 by the Lambert family.

Jean-Claude and Philippe Lambert took over the estate in 1998 and began selling bottled wine in 2002.

Since the development of the sale in bottles, a storage building was built in 2012 in which a cellar space was created. In order to better welcome customers, the outdoor cellar area is currently being developed.

Today, the entire production is sold in bottles and the 4ᵉ generation joined the estate a few years ago.

The vineyard

The Domaine des Pasquiers covers 87 hectares of vines in various appellations: IGP Vaucluse, Côtes du Rhône Villages Sablet, Côtes du Rhône Villages Plan de Dieu & Gigondas.

Each of these appellations has its own typicity and terroir. We find a silty and stony soil on the edge of the river where the vines that produce the IGP Vaucluse are planted. In the Sablet appellation, the soils are varied; sandy, stony and on hillsides. The Plan de Dieu soil, which is homogeneous, is clay-limestone with rolled pebbles. And finally, the Gigondas soils are on clay-limestone soil.

Concerned about respecting the environment, the estate has chosen to switch to organic farming and has been certified organic since 2013.

In addition, in recent years, the installation of plant cover between the rows of vines has improved the biodiversity of the soil.

The wines of the estate

On the estate, the main grape varieties are Grenache for its fruit, Syrah for its aromatic finesse and Mourvèdre for its tannic structure.

Following the development of bottled sales, the wines are available 6 to 9 months after the harvest. The vinification process has therefore been modified in order to obtain wines with fruit, finesse and elegance; the fermentations are done at lower temperatures and the vatting period lasts from 20 to 30 days.

The grape varieties are vinified separately by terroir and then blended.

  • Domaine des Pasquiers Plan de Dieu AOP Côtes du Rhône Village

Grape varieties: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre

This wine has a dark garnet colour, with aromas of red fruit and spices on the nose. The mouth is full and tasty, with delicate tannins.

This wine can accompany you throughout your meal. 

 

  • Domaine des Pasquiers IGP Vaucluse

Grape varieties: Merlot, Marselan, Syrah

A garnet colour, a complex nose of red fruits.

The mouth is balanced and supple with discreet tannins and a fruity finish.

This is a wine for pleasure, to be shared around a barbecue during the summer.
