Discovering Pizay Castle
The Château de PIZAY has just finished its 991ᵉ harvest since its existence is attested in the charters of the ABBEY OF CLUNY from the year 1030...
In the heart of the Beaujolais crus, Pizay remains one of the most important wine estates with nearly 80 hectares of vines in production. The estate has been certified HVE, High Environmental Value since 2015.
With its three crus Brouilly, Régnié and Morgon, Château de Pizay also produces red and rosé Beaujolais from the Gamay grape variety and a white Beaujolais from the Chardonnay variety.
Harvested from granite soils, the PIZAY Beaujolais Nouveau brings out the full fruity aromatic range of Gamay grapes vinified in the Beaujolais tradition with yeasts selected on the estate. A real autumn pleasure to be savoured with friends...
Beaujolais Nouveau 2021
The vineyard was gently waking up when the frost came to surprise it at dawn on 7 April... One grape in three did not survive!

The new Beaujolais confirms the beautiful quality of this vintage. Draped in garnet red with flashes of purple, it twirls with all its reflections.
It sketches out olfactory squares of red fruits. Raspberries, cherries, cranberries, ... follow each other, intermingle and split...
On the palate, the freshness opens the dance with a flight of small red fruits, lively and crisp. The supple finish continues this incantation to pleasure as an invitation to continue the meeting between friends, between delicacy and freshness.
