Discovering CAVAVIN signatures : La Fleur d'Aliénor
In 1972, coming from a family of wine growers, Jean-Pierre Palatin bought the Palatin estate which has since been managed by his daughter and son-in-law Nathalie and Thomas Guibert. Thomas, with his training as an agricultural engineer and oenologist, has developed his know-how and put his knowledge at the service of Château Roquevieille. CAVAVIN and Château Roquevieille have been working together for many years. The vineyard has also developed a signature exclusively for CAVAVIN, the Fleur D'Aliénor.
Terroir:
The wines of Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux benefit from a privileged geographical situation with a full southern exposure.
Gravelly near the Dordogne, the clay soils at the foot of the slopes become clay-limestone and then limestone on the plateaus. Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux is located 45 km east of Bordeaux on the right bank.
Facing due south, Château Roquevieille benefits from a privileged situation known as "Vins De Côtes". The estate comprises some twenty hectares in a single block on a magnificent clay-limestone plateau. The Château attaches particular importance to respecting the environment in all the practices implemented on the estate.
The wine is made in the purest Bordeaux tradition, with modern touches in the vinification techniques. All this is done with respect for the terroir.
Grape varieties:
This wine is made from 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc.

Château Roquevieille " Fleur d'Aliénor " AOP Côtes de Castillon 2016
With a nose of cherry and raspberry, this wine is well balanced with fruit notes and tannins, full-bodied and elegant with a nice freshness, for immediate pleasure, but with a good ageing potential (10 years) given for this great vintage.
