Discovering the Domaine Montgilet
10 minutes from the centre of Angers, south of the Loire, our estate is located in the commune of Juigné sur Loire, in the heart of the Côteaux de l'Aubance and Anjou Villages Brissac appellations.
- The domain
Descending from a large family of winegrowers since 1880, the vineyard covered an area of one and a half hectares. Victor and Vincent LEBRETON now manage 70 hectares of vines.
We produce mainly Anjou Villages Brissac and Coteaux de l'Aubance, from selections of noble rot, in five cuvées depending on the sugar content of the grapes and their parcel origin.
The vines of the Domaine de Montgilet are spread over the best schist terroirs and are cultivated according to the cultural principles of our ancestors: ploughing the soil, grassing, short pruning, manual harvesting for our noble appellations, rational disease control for the high quality of the wines and for the respect of what nature gives us. We are certified High Environmental Value (level 3), since the 2019 harvest...
Notre philosophie est de produire des vins de qualité, gourmands et abordables.
- The grape varieties
Our grape varieties are typical of the Ligérienne viticulture with: Chenin, which allows us to produce our slopes of Aubance, but also our Anjou Blanc and our Moulin à Chenin cuvée (dry), Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon used in the elaboration of our Anjou-villages Brissac and our Cabernet d'Anjou
